The day we grew up.

Thu Nov 19, 2009, 10:26 AM
I'm officially a graduate now!

It's quite sad actually. The ceremony was yesterday (Wednesday), and despite thinking it'd be really boring, (and parts were) it wasn't so bad. Making myself laugh helped, but we all joked about all day, it was cool. I spent the ceremony behind a pillar looking at overexposed footage on an LCD screen, which was kinda poop. But when I joined the que to collect my degree, the nerves really kicked in.

A high five from Carly, raising my arms to the other students to try and calm myself down by looking like an idiot instead - all didn't work. When I went to collect the degree and shake Lord Salisbury's hand, I zoned in on the paper, trying not to trip. It felt weird, felt all fuzzy inside. I felt proud of myself, but that moment, right then, will never happen again. I can't describe how I felt, but I'll never forget it.

We all then went to the Alban Arena, eating lots of cake before going off to Lloyds, getting in a few Sailor Jerry's and coke, before moving to another pub. If I'm honest, I wasn't feeling it at first and wanted to go home, but it became really good. We all laughed and got very drunk, Iain became broke and had a belly full of vinegar (our gift to him for his drinks was a shot of it, disguised as Jager ;) ). I'm gonna miss everyone, we don't live far apart, but it's rare that we'll ever all get to meet up again. Jamie with his colourful mannerisms, Anna with her loudness, Mandy the chatterbox, Iain and his Irishness, Mark and his loudness too, Carly being really funny when she's drunk, Robyn, Sam, Hannah and everyone, people I love.

Thanks to Cas too, putting up with me all day, waiting around, being the designated driver lol, and just being there for me. I love you.

Out.
